SIPONTO

REPERTI ERRATICI (Erratic Artifacts) A project for urban furniture in the Archaeological Park of Siponto, designed with a site-specific approach. Inspired by the Paleochristian architecture of the Basilica, we chose reconstructed stone, allowing Edoardo Tresoldi's renowned art intervention to remain the visual focus. Our reflection centered on temporality: how will our furniture be perceived in 1000 years, when it too becomes an artifact? From this perspective, elements like capital-shaped benches, arches, and columns were conceived, inspired by Paleochristian archetypes. Like 'erratic artifacts' (fragments displaced from their context), our public design pieces dialogue with the landscape, creating new connections between history and the present.
